As per 2009 UGC Guideline, an Anti-Ragging Committee has been formed to curb to menace of ragging in the college campus. The committee is a supervisory and advisory committee in preserving a Ragging Free Environment in the college campus. Ragging is a crime which destroys the physical and emotional confidence and led to an increase in suicidal activities, defined as an act that violates or is perceived to violate an individual student's dignity. The Chairperson along with the members of the committee will work towards designing strategies to prevent ragging and to prohibit any activity of offence or maltreatment done by any student to harass and disturb any other student. When any student is found indulging into any such activity, the committee will take strict disciplinary action as per the rules. The committee also involves into regularly checking the various places of campus like classrooms, canteen, parking area where students usually congregate to supervise them to prevent the possibility of any ragging activity. The committee also plans to spread awareness amongst students regarding the harmful effects of ragging through various activities like displaying charts, performance of drama, expert session etc. along with circulating the rules and regulations regarding ragging from time to time.

Objectives:

·       To make the college campus ragging free

·       To prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging done by any student in any form

·       To monitor, direct and oversee the functions and performance of the Anti-Ragging committee in prevention and curbing of ragging in the institution

To spread awareness towards this menace amongst students through various activities
