ABOUT CHEMISTRY
Dolat-Usha Institute of Applied Sciences And Dhiru-Sarla Institute of Management & Commerce, Valsad started B.Sc. (Chemistry) in the year 2014 with intake of 90 students and M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) in the year 2016 with intake of 38 students. The department has 1 Associate Professor (Head and Principal), 5 Assistant Professor, 1 Laboratory Assistant and 2 supporting staff. Department has 2 spacious and well equipped laboratories for graduate and post graduate students with fire safety precaution and 1 Physical laboratory for post graduate students. Department has 3 classrooms and all the classrooms are equipped with LCD projector.
Objective of The Course
The Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry develops students’ ability and skill to expertise knowledge base theory and experimental science. Since South Gujarat is well known for Chemical Industrial Zone, the main objective of this course is to increase the job opportunity of the students by preparing them with the experimental and theoretical aspects of this continuously evolving subject. Aim of the department to impart quality education and create strong foundation of cultural values in our students to support future of our country and society.

Programme Outcomes
.To develop critical thinking, students carry out scientific experiments as well as accurately record and analyze the results of such experiments.
.Students will have a firm foundation in the fundamentals and application of current chemical and scientific theories including those in Organic, Inorganic, Physical and Analytical Chemistries.
.Students will be able to explore new areas of research in chemical science and technology.
.Students will appreciate the central role of chemistry in our society and use this as a basis for ethical behavior in issues facing chemists including an understanding of safe handling of chemicals, environmental issues and key issues facing our society in energy, environment, health and medicine.
.To develop skills in the proper handling of apparatus and chemicals. To be exposed to the different processes used in industries and their applications.

12th H.S.C. passed with Science (Group A or AB) from Gujarat Board / Any recognized Board.
