ABOUT P.G.D.M.L.T.

Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is a branch of science that deals with the understanding the human body, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and associated techniques. It also encompasses identification of different pathogens using clinical laboratory test and prevention of diseases.

Blood, tissue and body fluids are analysed and examined for various types of foreign organisms and abnormalities. This information is then used by the medical team to make decisions regarding a patient's medical care. 85% of all medical decisions are based on the results of clinical laboratory investigation reports.

During 1 year of the course duration, students study subjects like Microbiology, Immunology, Pathology, Parasitology, Haematology, Blood banking and Biochemistry. The students are also trained using on hand knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria for P.G.D.M.L.T. Course: 

Passed graduation with B.Sc. Microbiology/Medical Technology/Biotechnology/Botany/Zoology/Chemistry

Student must have studied biology subject (Microbiology/Botany/Zoology) during first year of graduation.
